Frequently Asked Questions
Lip Blush
Lip blush is a semi-permanent makeup treatment that enhances the natural color, shape, and definition of your lips. It gives the effect of a subtle tint or soft lipstick look, so your lips appear naturally fuller and more even in tone.
A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure to keep you comfortable. Most clients describe the feeling as a light scratching or mild tingling sensation rather than pain.
Results typically last 2–3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. A touch-up session is usually recommended 6–8 weeks after your first treatment, and maintenance refreshers can help extend the results.
– Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood-thinning medications (like aspirin or ibuprofen) 24 hours before.
– Do not have lip fillers or other lip treatments within 4 weeks of your appointment.
– Exfoliate and hydrate your lips in the days leading up to your session to prevent dryness.
The initial Lip Blush appointment will last 3 hours, the retouch appointment lasts around 2.5 hours.
– Day 1–2: Lips appear more vibrant and slightly swollen.
– Day 3–5: Mild peeling or flaking is normal as the color settles.
– Weeks 2–4: The shade softens into the final healed result.
It’s important to follow the aftercare instructions to ensure proper healing and color retention.
– 2 weeks before: Avoid strong facial treatments (chemical peels, microneedling, laser).
– 1 week before: Discontinue retinol, acids, or exfoliating products on the lip area.
– 48 hours before: No alcohol, caffeine, or painkillers (unless medically necessary).
– Day of treatment: Arrive with clean lips free from makeup or balm.
– Cold sore sufferers: Take an antiviral (such as Aciclovir) if prescribed by your doctor, as lip tattooing can trigger an outbreak.
– Keep lips clean and dry for the first few hours.
– Do not pick or scratch as your lips heal and flake – let them shed naturally.
– Apply the aftercare balm provided by your artist to keep lips moisturised.
– Avoid for at least 7 days:
Makeup on the lip area
Excessive sweating/exercise
